Three Close Games
Monday night saw three close games that swapped leads back and forth. The Crusaders and the Fightin' Bitin' Beavers entered the game tied at 30. The Crusaders had Zach Brown and the Beavers had Zach Ertz. Ertz put together a strong game scoring 10, but Brown was all over the field and netted 15. Leaving the Crusaders with a 30-25 victory, moving both teams to 5-2 atop their respective divisions.
In the second game, the Sacks held a 2 point edge over the Gallic Warriors with a defensive player for each team. The players cancelled each other out giving the Sacks a 34-32 win. Both teams sit at 4-3 at the mid-point. In the final and crazest game of them all, Sean Taylor's Ashes had a slight lead over Richard's Lionhearts. There were a total of six players left to play. During the game the lead changed at least five times. With both teams despirate for a win the final score settled as a 10-10 tie. Don is once again denied his first league win.
In other games, the Woodland Rangers completely destroyed Tim Always Pulls Out Late, 102-35. The score was hugely helped by a gameplanned Ezekiel Elliot, who came in with a total of 66. Which is just ridiculous, so uh yeah that rule needs to be adjusted next year. With another 25 points coming from the Dallas OL, Derek continues to hope that Zek doesn't get suspended. He is now tied for the league lead at 5-2.
Tom also advanced the MeggaMen to 5-2, with a solid win over the Norsemen, 28-0. He has now defeated Byron in five straight seasons. The Amish Electricians also earned a shutout over the Fighting Squirrels, 22-0. Both teams are now 4-3, but in the weak Burgundy Division it leaves Josh in first place.
At the midway point in the season there are four teams sitting at 5-2 and another four at 4-3. The White Division is crazy tough with three of the 5-2 teams and the fourth only a game behind. The Burgundy Division is really weak with only 8 wins total among the four teams and four of them being inside the division. 8-6 will probably win the Burgundy but be fourth place in the White.
Games this week feature three match-ups of 5-2 teams vs 4-3 teams. The Beavers meet the Amish, the Crusaders take on division rivals Squirrels and the MeggaMen play the Gallic Warriors. Meanwhile, the "Where's My Trophy" rivalry is renewed, when Warren takes on Byron. The STA continue looking for their first win as they take on the Sacks. And the Woodland Rangers meet the Lionhearts.
