Separation

Published: Nov 29, 2017

After a season with a crazy number of teams bunched up at the top, this week began to give some clarity to the playoff picture.  In the Gold Division the two teams at the top met head-to-head.  The Crusaders emerged with a 19-0 shutout over the Fighting Squirrels.  The Squirrels doubled down on Dak Prescott's failures game planning him to negative territory for the second straight week.  He has "earned" -24 points over those two weeks.  The Crusaders didn't look particularly good, but they were good enough to win this game and grab a single game lead on the division, putting them on the verge of a division title.

Knowing they needed a win to keep pace with the winner of that game, the Gallic Warriors took on the league leading Fightin' Bitin' Beavers.  In a high scoring hard fought battle, the Warriors leveraged Julio Jones' 40 natural points to a 59-46 victory.  The Warriors remain in the division race and a single game behind the Crusaders.  It is the 6th straight time the Warriors have defeated the Beaver franchise.

With the Beavers losing, the Sacks on the Beach had a chance to move into first in the White Division.  They were playing the Woodland Rangers, in a game that was a must win for the Rangers.  The Rangers game planned Case Keenum to 46 points but that wasn't enough to off-set the Sacks' game planning of Antonio Brown to 60.  The Sacks won 79-46.  The loss eliminates the Rangers from playoff contention and guarantees a new champion this year.

Also needing a win, the MeggaMen had a battle against the underrated Tim Always Pulls Out Late.  The Tom and Warren rivalry is always entertaining and this year was no exception.  Warren came out ahead after game planning for Philip Rivers and bulstering him to 56 points.  Seriously, did any one think Rivers would score 56 points all season?  With the loss the MeggaMen fall to 6-6 and are barely hanging on to playoff hopes.  Warren is making a push to avoid the Toliet Bowl.

Finally, there were two in division matchups in the Burgundy Division.  The Amish Electricians defeated Richard's Lionhearts, 57-5, while in a week the marks the 10th anniversary of Sean Taylor's death, the Norsemen dominated the Sean Taylor's Ashes, 80-34.  Alvin Kamara got game planned up to 52 points, which is freaking crazy.  The victory by the Norsemen prevents this division from being wrapped up, but the Amish hold a two game lead going into the last two weeks.
