No One Clinches In Week 13

Published: Dec 10, 2020

Wow!  What a great week.  Lots of close games that had big playoff implications.

One of the keystone games was the Crusaders and the MeggaMen.  Both looking to stay atop of their divisions.  One Sunday Darren Waller (TE-LV) tied the TE record for points in a game with 36 on a couple of TDs and 200 yards.  That gave the Crusaders an early lead that the MeggaMen would have to chase.  With three defensive players on Monday and Tuesday it was going to be close.  But after a disappointing 0 by Aldon Smith (DL-DAL) on Tuesday night, the MeggaMen fell short by 3.  Losing 42-39.

That put the pressure on the Fighting Squirrels, who needed to win to keep pace.  They were playing Richard's Lionhearts and ended Monday with a 15 point lead.  In the Monday afternoon game Antonio Gibson (RB-WAS) went out for the Squirrels, which allowed the Lionhearts to net 5 points and pull the score to 22-12.  But Richard had a bunch of players playing that night.  The Niners-Bills game proved porfitable for Richard as he gained the lead after Monday, 28-16.  Leaving the Squirrels needing Greg Zuerlein (K-DAL) to get 12.  With Dallas being Dallas and a pitful NFC East team, that of course didn't happen as Zuerlein only scored 4 giving Richard the 28-21 victory.  Leaving Brian a game behind the Crusaders going into the final week.

The MeggaMen loss opened the door for Mike and the Sacks on the Beach to regain control of the division.  They took on the Testudos Revenge.  After Pittsburgh's surprise defeat, the Sacks were within 2 points of Testudos.  But Stefon Diggs (WR-BUF) extended that lead by 9 for Derek.  So Tuesday night saw Testudos with Ezekiel Elliott (RB-DAL) and Amari Cooper (WR-DAL) for the Sacks.  Zek had some yardage but nothing else scoring on 3 points.  A big day by Cooper could have done it, but again see the above paragraph, it's Dallas.  Cooper scored a respectible 7, but it wasn't enough.  Testudos won 24-17.  Leaving the Sacks in the 6-7 tie atop the White Division.

For the Wild Card the Sean Taylor's Ashes went into the weekend with an outside shot of clinching the berth, but with the Squirrels loss they wouldn't be able to wrap it up.  They were still hoping to gain an edge though.  They were playing Trump Molests Collies.  This game had some wild swings.  After the Sunday afternoon game it was tied 31-31.  In the night game, the Chiefs OL gave the STA a 37-31 lead.  The early Monday game had the STA extend the lead to 27, only to have Josh Allen (QB-BUF) score 30 for the TMC and leave them with a 3 point lead going into Tuesday's game.  Warren had no one left, but Don still had a K and DL.  Baltimore's dominance in that game proved to be enough as Justin Tucker (K-BAL) scored 10 to give Don the 57-49 win and move him a step closer to the playoffs.

Needing to keep pace the Norsemen took on the league leaders in luck rating, the Amish Electricians.  The Amish actually put together a decent week although they left some top scoring players on the bench.  Going into the night games that had a large 52-7 lead that the Norsemen would chip away for each of the night games.  The always dangerous Patrick Mahomes (QB-KC) was held to his second lowest score of the season 12 points.  But that with a defensive player pulled the Norsemen to within 30.  Byron's two Washington players both scored 0 and Stephon Tuitt's (DL-PIT) return from COVID bought the Amish 4 more points.  Raheem Mostert's (RB-SF) return was not a fruitful so the Norsemen pulled back to within 30 going into Tuesday.  They send out the Baltimore OL and the Amish had John Harbaugh (HC-BAL).  Needing 30 points that seemed very unlikely.  Then Balitmore put on a running fest getting close to 300 yards on the ground and made the game interesting.  But it wasn't enough and the Amish held on for a 50-42 win.

The final game featured a preview of the Toilet Bowl.  The British Bulldogs ended their six game losing streak with a 39-4 win over the Gallic Warriors.  The loss locks the Warriors into the Toilet Bowl and with Richard and Derek both winning, the same is true for the Bulldogs.
