RCC Fall to Top QB in Another Near Win

Published: Sep 18, 2013

For the second week in a row, the RCC lose a close game because of a hot QB.  The (un)luck of the schedule left the RCC playing the #1 and #2 ranked QBs in weeks one and two.  This week falling to the Crusaders and Aaron Rodgers, 30 to 24.  All this, while #3 ranked QB Philip Rivers was sitting on the RCC bench.  So while the RCC sits at fourth in the league in total points, they start 0-2, good for a -59.1 luck rating.  he Crusaders advance to 2-0 for the fourth straight season.

The MeggaMen didn't start Vick but certainly seem all-in on Chip Kelly's offense.  This week they got 35 out of McCoy and Jackson, Vick would have been an additional 28.  They didn't need it though as they moved to 2-0 by defeating the Woodland Rangers 53-8.  The Rangers relied heavily on RG3's 21 pts, but went single digit everywhere else, getting only 2 in Trent Richardson's last game in Cleveland.  Also in that division the Pretend I'm Not Here were dominate again this week, scoring 62 on defense.  Mario Williams came away with 4.5 sacks.  They lead the league in defense and total points, as well as power ranking.  Their first 2-0 start since 2007.

The fourth team to start 2-0 was the Mansfield Onanists, led my Matt Ryan, who beat the Gallic Warriors 39-20.  The Onanists remain a perfect 4-0 all-time against the Warriors.  Two other teams fell to 0-2.  The Werewolves were defeated by the Norsemen 63-56 in a high scoring game that saw 10 players score double digits and two go over 20.  In the opposite type of game, the Whiskey Tango lost to the Sacks On The Beach 4-0.  The combined score in that game didn't equal the losing score in the previous game.  The only double digits were defensive, JJ Watt and Mark Barron for the Sacks.

The highlight game for week 3 is a match-up of 2-0 teams, the Crusaders and the MeggaMen.  Historically it's been a very even series with the MeggaMen leading all-time 11-10-2, but the Crusaders have won the previous two seasons.  The other 2-0 teams both take on Burgundy Division teams, the Onanists go up against the Norsemen and the Pretend take on the Werewolves.  The RCC and Squirrels play, eaching trying to net thier first win of the season, while the Whiskey Tango try the same against the Gallic Warriors.  Finally, the Sacks play thier White Division rival Rangers.
