Division Leaders All Fall; Races Tighten
It was a bad week for the division leaders. The Norsemen lost to the Sacks on the Beach for the third straight season, ending the Sacks four game losing streak. The Sacks got 34 from Tom Brady, while the Norsemen left three players that scored over 20 on the bench. With the best record in the league the MeggaMen fell to the Fighting Squirrels, getting them back to .500. In the Gold Division, the Gallic Warriors squandered a 39 point game by Andre Johnson and lost to the Werewolves, 47-37. The Werewolves have defeated the Warriors in their last five meetings.
With all the division leaders losing it opened the the door for the second place teams. The Crusaders came into the week trailing by half a game, but fell to the Whiskey Tango by 20. The Crusaders have struggled in their own division falling to 0-3. In the Burgundy Division the Ravaging Camel Clutch and the Mansfield Onanists played, so one of them was going to end tied with the Norsemen. The RCC ended up on top 45-27, sweeping the season series. It's the first time since the Onanists entered the league that the two teams didn't split the season.
The final game saw the Pretend I'm Not Here moving back to within a game of the MeggaMen by beating the Woodland Rangers, 46-29. The Pretend have won all four games against the Rangers since Marc took over the team. The Woodland Rangers find themselves eliminated from playoff contention.
Next week the Norsemen face a challenge from the Onanists as the entire division could end up tied. Both the Werewolves and the Whiskey Tango try to continue their fight back to relevancy as they meet up. The RCC need to avoid overlooking the Woodland Rangers in a matchup the RCC have never lost.
The Gallic Warriors face a stiff challenge against the Pretend while the Fighting Squirrels try to move into second against the Crusaders. Finally the Sacks need a win against the MeggaMen or they will be eliminated from defending their division title.
