RCC escape with a Win; Half the league stuck at 6 Wins
Going into Monday night the The Ravaging Camel Clutch trailed Pretend I'm Not Here by a point. They got just enough from Danny Amendola as he picked up 6 receptions including one in the final 40 seconds of the game, to earn two points and a 18-17 victory for the RCC. It hands the Wards their first back-to-back losses of the season. The RCC got additional help Monday night with the Crusaders coming back to beat the Norsemen. Rob Gronkowski got 8 points, in spite of being mugged in the endzone, while Aaron Dobson of the Norsemen failed to to net a point. The Crusaders beat the Norsemen 26-21. The Crusaders have now defeated the Norsemen the last six times they have met, the longest streak in the series. These two games together force a tie atop the Burgundy between the RCC and the Norsemen, who met in week 14.
The win by the Crusaders not only makes the wild card race even more interesting but tightens the Gold Division. Going into the week the Gallic Warriors led the division, but the curse of the Zebus struck again and they fell to the Whiskey Tango for the 18th time in the last 10 season. The loss drops the Warriors to 6-4-1 and gives the Whiskey Tango some hope of avoiding the Toliet Bowl. Just as devastating for the Warriors is the fact that the Fighting Squirrels defeated the Woodland Rangers, 22-11. The Rangers came close in this one, the Squirrels got a forced fumble, recovery for a touchdown out of Vontaze Burfict for a total of 25 points. The Squirrels have now won three in a row.
The final games both involved teams from the White Division facing off against Burgundy Division teams. The MeggaMen scored a dominate victory over the Mansfield Onanists as the Onanists picked up 7 activation violations. LeSean McCoy by himself would have won this game. The other game has the Sacks On the Beach defeat the Werewolves 46-33. The Sacks got 22 from Antonio Brown to lock the game. The win keeps the Sacks in the wild card race and mostly ensures that the Werewolves will not stage a comeback from their 0-5 start.
The aftermath of week 11 leaves seven teams at 6 or 6.5 wins and only one better, adding to the value of the last three weeks. Three games this week are between teams in the log jam. The Gallic Warriors face a threat to their quest to make the playoffs for the first time in the form of the Crusaders. The Warriors have not swept the Crusaders since 2007. The Fighting Squirrels and the Norsemen play in a game they both need to advance their chances at division titles. Watching that game carefully will be the RCC who take on the Sacks. With the number of teams at six wins these three games will go a long way to sorting the picture a bit. In none of them is a loss devestating, but in all of them it would big a pretty deep hole to get out of.
The other team at 6-5, the Pretend take on the Mansfield Onanists, obviously it means a lot more for the Pretend. The MeggaMen have a chance of clinching the division this week with a win over the Whiskey Tango and losses (or tied) by both Pretend and Sacks. Finally, the Woodland Rangers and Werewolves meet up in a game meeting not a lot other than for the Toliet Bowl. A Ranger loss will ensure their trip to the Toliet Bowl.
