Crusaders Move Into Lead
In a key game in the Gold Division, the Crusaders take advantage of the fact that the Gallic Warriors left Julian Edleman on the bench and won 36-25. Karlos Dansby had an interception return for a touchdown to give the Crusaders the win. The Gallic Warriors' have now fallen in three of their last four games and their once promising season is now in jeopardy. And that is what the curse of the Zebus is. It's the reason this team has had one season above .500 in twenty years, it's the reason they have never made the playoffs, it's the reason Peyton Manning's pace has slowed down, it's the reason Julio Jones got hurt the week after trading for him and it's the reason the smart money in the Gold Division is on the Crusaders, or the Squirrels, or even the Whiskey Tango, but not the Gallic Warriors.
In another big game for division leads, the Norsemen easily took care of the Fighting Squirrels, 52-19. The loss puts the Squirrels half a game behind the Crusaders in the division as they try to make the playoffs for the first time in nine seasons. The Norsemen on the otherhand take a one game lead on the rest of the division and are within striking distance of their first division title since 2009. Helping them in that endeavor was the Sacks On the Beach who blanked the Ravaging Camel Clutch, 45-0. The win is the seventh straight time the Sacks have beaten the RCC.
The Pretend I'm Not Here take a hit to their playoff chances when they fell to the Mansfield Onanist, 19-6. Both teams took penalties for using bye week players, as the Onanists remain undefeated all-time vs the Pretend. In a potential Toilet Bowl match-up the Werewolves fell to the Woodland Rangers, 8-0. The Rangers were helped out by two defensive forced fumble recoveries for touchdowns. In spite of the win, the Rangers still clinch a Toilet Bowl spot with the Whiskey Tango victory over the MeggaMen. They won due to Josh Gordon's 33 points, really who saw that coming.
With only two weeks to go no one has clinched a playoff spot and only two teams are mathmatically eliminated from the playoffs, the Woodland Rangers and the Werewolves. That makes all of this week's game critical. The MeggaMen can clinch a playoff berth with a win against the Norsemen and the division if the Sacks also lose to the Pretend. The Norsemen also need that win as they could clinch the division if they win and the RCC lose to the Werewolves. The Pretend have to win to stay in contention. The Fighting Squirrels have to win to stay alive, as do the Whiskey Tango, so that game will see someone getting eliminated. The Gallic Warriors also make a final stand vs the Woodland Rangers. The Crusaders can clinch the division with a win over the Onanists and both the Squirrels and Warriors losing.
