Three Close Games and a Tie in Week One
The first week of the season saw quite a few close games. In his first game in the league Brian's Fighting Squirrels netted the highest score in the league unseating the defending champions by 4, 31-27. The MeggaMen would have beaten any other team easily. Julius Thomas led the team with three touchdowns and 25 points.
In a five point game the Sacks took the early lead in the White Division with a 21-16 point victory. The Sacks have now won 16 of their last 18 meetings. Another close divisional game saw the Crusaders getting the edge over their traditional rival, Whiskey Tango. The Crusaders got the most points from their K and OL battery but managed to hold off warren to win 32-29. The win gives the Crusaders a five game regular season winning streak and is the Whiskey Tango's fourth straight opening day loss.
Then in the closest of possible games, the Joe Gibbs Good Head and Mansfield Onanists tied, 39-39. There were a myraid of activation mistakes on each side that could have led to victory. It's the first ever tie for the Onansists.
In two not so close games, the Norsemen beat the Woodland Rangers, 65-24 and the Gallic Warriors defeated Sean Taylor's Ashes, 32-4. The Norsemen have never lost to the Woodland Rangers in their five meetings. The Gallic Warriors have won two straight opening week games for the first time since 1993-94.
Week two games feature three early division match-ups. The Norsemen play Sean Taylor's Ashes, the Whiskey Tango meet the Gallic Warriors and the Woodland Rangers play the Sacks On The Beach. The Sacks have beaten the Rangers in 7 of their 8 meetings. In other games the Fighting Squirrels take on the Pretend I'm Not Here, the Onanists play the Crusaders and the Good Head meet the MeggaMen.
