Fighting Squirrels Suffer First Loss

Published: Sep 24, 2014

In a match-up of two unbeaten teams the Mansfield Onanists advanced to 2-0-1 with a 45-27 victory over the Fighting Squirrels.  It is Brian's first loss as an owner.  The Onanists face another challenge next week as they face the undefeated Gallic Warriors.  It's the first time in league history that a team has played undefeated teams in each of their first four games.

The Gallic Warriors won again to advance to 3-0.  This time they defeated the Woodland Rangers, 65-34.  The Warriors now have a five game regular season winning streak, tied for their longest in franchise history.  In next week's match-up with the Onanists, the Warriors face a challenge in that they have never defeated Onanists.

The final remaining undefeated team, the Joe Gibbs Good Head, remained so by beating the Whiskey Tango, 38-23.  Josh has essentially owned Warren in recent years, not having lost to him since 2009.  This time he won 38-23.  The Whiskey Tango fall to 0-3 on the season.

The Pretend I'm Not Here picked up their first win of the season with a 45-42 victory over Sean Taylor's Ashes.  Both teams now sit at 1-2.  Also trying to get their first win, but missing out, the MeggaMen fell to the Crusaders, 21-8.  Finally, the Sacks on the Beach beat the Norsemen to advance to 2-1.

With bye weeks starting next week there are some key games on the schedule.  There is the previously mentioned match-up of undefeated teams, the Mansfield Onanists and the Gallic Warriors.  There are also a couple of division games.  The Joe Gibbs Good Head meet Sean Taylor's Ashes and the MeggaMen are in a must win against the Sacks.  Warren goes looking for his first win against the Norsemen.  Also playing are the Woodland Rangers and Fighting Squirrels.  As well as the Pretend I'm Not Here and the Crusaders.
