Brandin Cooks Taken First
The Woodland Rangers started the draft off by taking Brandin Cooks (WR-NO). He was the first WR taken first overall since the Fighting Squirrels took Marques Colston first overall in 2009, ironically another New Orleans Wide Receiver. It also is the third New Orleans player taken first overall (Reggie Bush by Go Balls Deep in 2006), making the Saints the most taken team.
Marc then followed his first pick up with another WR, taking Davante Adams. Making this the first time ever that two WRs have gone 1-2. That was followed up with a third WR (T.Y. Hilton) going to Sean Taylor's Ashes. In all there were 5 WRs taken in the first round.
The entire draft took 1 hour, 38 minutes. 10 minutes less than last year. We averaged 30.8 seconds per pick. The fastest team was the Amish Electricians averaging a stunningly low 4.8 seconds per pick. Byron was the slowest taking an average of 44.2 seconds per pick. The full table is below
