Crusaders Suffer First Loss, Pretend Advance to 4-1
The Pretend I'm Not Here advanced to 4-1 by defeating the Norsemen 15-0. Devonta Freeman scored 22 points in the victory. His 87 points on the year is 25 points above the second highest running back. The Pretend have won three straight against the Norsemen and send them to a 2-3 record. With Jamaal Charles tearing his ACL, the Norsemen continue their annual tradition of having a star RB go out for the season.
The undefeatd Crusaders suffered their first defeat to the Mansfield Onanaists, 25-19. The Crusaders suffered an unusual turnover fest out of Aaron Rodgers to cost him the game. They actually would have won with Joe Flacco at the helm instead. That will probably be the only time that sentence is ever spoken. The Crusaders now hold a two game lead over the rest of the division.
The Gallic Warriors went into their game with the Sacks on the Beach in desperate need of a win. Their three losses have all been by 2 or fewer points so they are in every game but have fallen short. In the QB stinkfest Manning and Ryan combined for 5 turnovers and -4 points. But most of the rest of the Warriors lineup was solid as they went on to win 46-9. The Sacks fall of the pace set by the Pretend and drop to 3-2.
Meanwhile, the MeggaMen delivered a smackdown domination of the Fighting Squirrels, shutting them out 75-0. The MeggaMen had 6 players go over double digits, with another two on the bench. In the other games the Whiskey Tango somehow have managed to win two in a row as they defeat Sean Taylor's Ashes, 31-25, when Josh Lambo scored 11 on Monday night and the Woodland Rangers beat the Amish Electricians, 41-31. All four teams are 2-3.
In fact the standings show that 2/3 of the league sit at 2-3. With the best records at 4-1, only 2 games separate first from last, the tightest things have been after five weeeks in a long time, if not ever. The entire Burgundy Division is below .500 at 2-3, while the Gold Division only has one team with a winning record. A look at the power rankings confirms that the White Division is the strongest division so far this year. Unfortunately for them only two of those teams can make the playoffs.
