Beavers Advance to 7-3, No Clarity in Playoff Races
In a rematch of last season's Toilet Bowl, but with different owners, the Fightin' Bitin' Beavers defeated Sean Taylor's Ashes, 63-28. The Beavers showed no running game, getting 0 from both RBs and -1 from the OL. But the STA had no recieving, with goose eggs from the WRs and the TE. Russell Wilson did score a game planned 30 points. The Beavers are now tied for the best record in the league at 7-3.
The other two division leaders lost, tightening their respective divisions. The Amish Electricians fell to the Norsemen, 45-28. The Norsemen got a big push on Monday night to lock the game up. They pull within a game of the Amish and keep their playoff hopes alive. At the same time the Crusaders dropped to the MeggaMen, 32-24. This brings the MeggaMen up to the top of the wildcard pile and keeps them within a game of the division lead.
With Ezekiel Elliott unavailable the Woodland Rangers struggled in a loss to the Fighting Squirrels, 33-14. The Rangers became the first team to game plan for a defensive players as they doubled Landon COllins points. Both teams are now 6-4 and are solidily in the playoff melee.
Sacks on the Beach are also 6-4 after a 54-19 victory over Richard's Lionhearts. The Sacks get back on track after a 1 point loss to Warren last week. Speaking of which, Warren won his second straight game by denying the Gallic Warriors 55-33.
With nine teams at 5-5 or better the playoff picture is a muddling mix. Each of the division leaders have a single game lead while the Fighting Squirrels are currently in the wild card spot. The Sean Taylor's Ashes are the only team mathmatically eliminated from the playoffs, although the path looks dim for the Lionhearts and Tim Pulls Out Late. But it looks like nothing will be resolved soon.
This week in the final week of NFL byes, the MeggaMen try to move into first as they take on the Beavers. The teams holding out on the edge of the playoff picture have critical games to remaining in contention. The Norsemen meet the Sacks and the Warriors take on the Rangers. Warren continues his surge to try to avoid the Toilet Bowl when he meets the Crusaders. The Amish meet the STA and the Squirrels play the Lionhearts.
