Collies Advance to 3-0
Warren racked up 93 offensive points with double digits coming from six different players, to beat the Crusaders 60-13. Off to a strong start, it's the first time Warren has started 3-0 since 2009. The Crusaders fall to 1-2, their first non-3-0 start since 2014 and worst start since 2007, when they went 2-12.
With the other two Gold Division teams losing, the Collies have an early 2 game lead in the division. The Gallic Warriors dropped to Testudos Revenge, 28-7. Jared Goff racked up 29 points for Testudos. The Warriors could have made it closer by playing Garoppolo instead of Brady, but I guess that won't be a problem going forward. The Fighting Squirrels got 23 from Roethlisberger, that and 15 from a kicker was most of their offense. The Sacks on the Beach offense was actually worse, but had a great defensive performance by the whole team to hold on to a 23-1 win. It's the Sacks' first win of the season. Which amazingly ties the team record for longest it's taken to pick up their first win. Never starting 0-3 in 19 seasons is impressive.
Going into the week the only other defeated team was the MeggaMen. They could not recover from the 42 points that Matt Ryan put up against them and fell to Richard's Lionhearts, 46-18. It's their first loss to that franchise since 2014. Both teams move to 2-1 and are tied atop their respective divisions.
In that tie with the MeggaMen, the Fightin' Bitin' Beavers took out Sean Taylor's Ashes, 31-18. After a strong first week the STA have now dropped two in a row with scores among the lowest in the league. The Beavers sit at 2-1.
Finally, in the most played rivalry in the league, the Norsemen and the Amish Electricians met for the 58th time. This time it wasn't particulaly close as the Norsemen won in a rout, 61-11. The Norsemen scored 23 and 24 from Patrick Mahomes and Alvin Kamara and also put up a strong defensive 52 points. If it weren't for the Redskins running game the Amish would have been shut out. None of this should surprise as the Norsemen are pretty good this year and the Amish are well... not.
Next week is the first bye week. Sean Taylor's Ashes tries to get back on track as they take on Richard's Lionhearts. The Amish continue looking for their first win of the season against the Beavers. An always tough cross division matchup between the MeggaMen and the Crusaders. While the Collies shoot for 4-0 vs the Sacks. The Gallic Warriors and Fighting Squirrels meet in a division matchup and Testudos and Norsemen wrap up the week.
