Miracle in Landover
After losing a comeback opportunity on Sunday night the Amish Electricians appeared headed for another miserable outcome. They trailed the Crusaders 20-6 with only a DB left. Defeat seemed to be all but certain. But one should never underestimate the ineptitude of the Washington Redskins. The Bears came to town and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (DB-CHI) grabbed two picks including a touchdown and almost 100 return yards, to net 30 points. That is the fifth best score ever posted by a DB. The Amish won the game 6-0, to become the worst 2-1 team ever. The Crusaders drop to 1-2.
The Norsemen posted another dominate performance to defeat division rival Sean Taylor's Ashes, 60-17. The Norsemen got over 25 by both Patrick Mahomes (QB-KC) and Alvin Kamara (RB-NO). This gives the Norsemen 12 straight regular season victories, the third longest such streak ever. Sean Taylor's Ashes fall to 1-2 after having won their opener. Meanwhile, Warren denied the league a matchup on undefeateds in week 4 by losing to Richard's Lionhearts. The TMC got good games out of DeShaun Watson (QB-HOU) (23 pts) and Mike Evans (WR-TB) (35 pts) but basically nothing else. While Richard had decent but not great performances across the board. The Lionhearts won 36-28 to also move to 2-1. The Norsemen and Trump Molests Collies will play this week in a rematch of last year's title game.
Both the MeggaMen and the Fighting Squirrels picked up their first wins of the season. The MeggaMen with a strong performance behind Darren Waller (TE-OAK) and Jamal Adams (DB-NYJ) to defeat Testudos Revenge by a score of 54-34. For the fifth straight time and the thirteenth time in their last fourteen meetings. Derek drops to 1-2 on the season. Brian put up 101 offensive points with six offensive players going double digits and Keenan Allen (WR-LAC) scoring 33. The Sacks on the Beach had a strong score but it wasn't enough this week as they fell 70-57. Both teams are now 1-2.
In fact the entire White Division is now 1-2. That was secured when the British Bulldogs lost to the Gallic Warriors, 26-14. The Bulldogs had two high scoring QBs on the bench (Daniel Jones (QB-NYG) - 29 pts and Russell Wilson (QB-SEA) - 35 pts) and opted instead for Kyler Murray (QB-ARI) and only got 10 points. Chris hurt himself by not playing Khalil Mack against the Redskins (come on that should have been obvious) but managed to hang on for the win anyway.
This week we easy into bye weeks with the Jets and 49ers taking the week off. In time for some interesting matchups. As mentioned earlier the TMC and Norsemen rematch last year's Championship. There are also some division matchups between the Sacks and the Bulldogs as well as the Lionhearts and Amish. The MeggaMen and Crusaders meet up, as do the Squirrels and Sean Taylor's Ashes. All three teams are looking to move up from 1-2. Finally the Gallic Warriors and Testudos Revenge meet, this all-time series is currently tied up at 5-5-1.
