Draft on August 29th

Published: Aug 17, 2020

This year's draft will be on Saturday, August 29th at 1:00 pm Eastern time.  As usual the draft will be held online and there will be a hangout available for everyone to join if they are able.

Protections will be due on Sunday, August 23rd at 11:59pm Eastern time.  They are now open to be submitted.

There are also a number of rule change proposals that are open for discussion.  The most pressing of which are around how to handle Covid.  I believe that only one player currently on a roster actually opted out for the season.  So my opinion is that we should do nothing special for protections.  But that after the draft we should have a COVID IR list.  Anyone that goes on the NFL Covid list will be placed on our Covid list, until and if they are removed from the NFL list.

In terms of the possibility of the season starting but not completing.  My thinking is that if the NFL completes less than 100 games (which is through week 7) with no return to play then we consider the season a wash and restart next year.  If they do play over 100 games but not enough to finish our season then we determine the champion based on regular season record.  Any plan that does include a return to play with at least 24 teams, we'll pick up the season and continue as many weeks as possible, depending on the NFL plan.

If anyone has further ideas please feel free to share.
