Really Late Week 1 Recap

Published: Sep 20, 2020

I clearly missed the window to give a meaningful recap of week 1, so I'll just do a quick review.  As well as point out a few things to pay attention to in week 2.

The defending champ Norsemen opened the season up with a strong showing by posting the second highest score of the week, unfortunate for them their opponents the Amish Electricians posted the league's highest regular season score in five years.  Sean Taylor's Ashes also put up a strong score and shut out Richard's Lionhearts, 49-0.

Testudos Revenge beat the British Bulldogs by 10, the difference being their strong defense.  The Bulldogs are now on a seven game losing streak.  Meanwhile, the MeggaMen defeated the Fighting Squirrels for the fifth time in six years.

The Crusaders got a jump on the rest of the division with a 35-24 victory over the Gallic Warriors.  And Warren's team stil sucks.  The Sacks on the Beach beat Trump Molests Collies, 40-13.

In week 2 the only match-up of teams that won in week 1 is the Sean Taylor's Ashes play the MeggaMen.  On the other side the Fighting Squirrels and Trump Molests Collies are playing for their first wins.  Other than that game there are no other divisional match-ups.

The Sacks vs the Norsemen should be a good matchup.  The Lionhearts vs Testudos might not be so good.  Richard's depenance on offensive players from Ohio teams will probably hurt him.

The Bulldogs will try to end their streak against the Crusaders.  Not just their overall losing streak, but this franchise has fallen in the last five meetings against Jon and has only defeated the Crusaders twice since the 2007 Toilet Bowl.

Finally, we'll see if the Amish's big week one score was just a fluke as they take on the Gallic Warriors.

IR Info

Some of you have already discovered that the ability to add players to the IR is now available under the Transactions section.  There is a new button for "Injured Reserve".  You can then switch the players you want over to the IR.  The Covid list should be done being implemented and available today.
