Sean Taylor's Ashes Return to Playoffs
There were two division titles and the wild card on the line in the final week of the season.
For the wild card Sean Taylor's Ashes had the inside track and only needed one out of four different games to go their way. They could have won the wild card outright with a win or Norsemen loss. In their game against the Amish Electricians they weren't really ever in the game. The Amish had six offensive players score double digits and walked away with a solid 75-22 point victory.
Well, maybe the STA will get in with the Norsemen losing. The Norsemen almost fell to Richard's Lionheart as they trailed by 13 points going into Monday night. But the Ravens put up another huge rushing night scoring 19, to secure the win 42-36. This left the STA and Norsemen tied. It came down to the fourth tiebreaker which would be resolved by other games this week.
In the Gold Division, the Fighting Squirrels needed a win and a Crusader loss to win the division. The Norsemen needed the Squirrels to lose or the STA would claim the wild card. The Squirrels posted a solid and convicing win over the Gallic Warriors, 52-6. The victory clinched the tiebreaker for the STA, sending them to their first playoff since 2015 and Don to his first. There will be a new champion this season.
With the Squirrel win the Crusaders needed to win. They took on the Trump Molests Collies and cruised to victory 64-22. This secured Hall's 15th division title, which I'm 90% sure is the most in the league, but I'm too lazy right now to look it up. They won every odd numbered title in the 2010s but haven't won in an even numbered year since 2010. The Squirrels came close but will have to wait at least another season to end the league long 16 year playoff drought.
To win the White Division the MeggaMen needed a win or Sacks loss, while the Sacks needed a win and a MeggaMen loss. With both teams sitting at 6-7 there was a chance of a division winner with a losing record. The MeggaMen took on the Testudos Revenge and had a good day out of Derrick Henry (RB-TEN) with 28 points. But Testudos got 22 out of Chase Young (DL-WAS), another 22 out of Jonathan Taylor (RB-IND) and 19 from Stefon Diggs (WR-BUF). That gave Testudos a 35-22 victory.
So the Sacks had a chance to get to .500 and win the division. They failed to do so. The British Bulldogs were victorious 45-22. Marking the fourth game of the week where the losing team had a score of 22. Also weird that 3 of the 4 winners had scores that ended in 5 and it would have been all 4, if Tennessee had gained 1 more rushing yard. It also left a three way tie, which the MeggaMen win, for their 8th division title and first since 2016.
