Norsemen Suffer First Defeat

Published: Nov 05, 2021

The Norsemen lost their first game of the season.  Falling to the Sacks on the Beach, 40-31.  The Sacks benefited from the team up of Ryan Tannehill (QB-TEN) and AJ Brown (WR-TEN).  While the Norsemen weren't horrible but did continue their two week streak of sub-100 performances.  It ends the three year winning streak the Norsemen had over the Sacks.  Interestingly, tied for the longest such streak the Byron has ever had over Mike.  Even with the win, the Sacks remain at the bottom of their division and currently in Toilet Bowl position.

The team with the second best record, the MeggaMen also lost.  Getting shutout by Warren and the Trump Molests Collies, 30-0.  Warren got a strong showing out of the his QBs, RBs and WRs, while Tom's must have been at a different game.  His total score of 49 is the lowest posted by any team this season.  (I made that up, checks records) Oh crap, ok the Amish did post a 45 in week 1, but they really really suck, so that doesn't count.  Warren has now won 5 of his last 6 and sits alone atop the Gold Division at 5-3.  The MeggaMen continue to lead their division at 6-2.

Those are the division leaders, but the wild card battle has really intensivied as all the rest of the teams in league with in 1 game.  (Ok except for the Amish, have I mentioned they really suck).  In the Battle of Britan, Richard's Lionhearts defeated the British Bulldogs, 52-9.  Richard has been alternating wins and losses all season.  While Adam can't seem to get back on track, losing 4 of 5 since starting 3-0.  Both teams are 4-4.

The Gallic Warriors continue to improve their position with a 21-14 victory over division rival Fighting Squirrels.  The Squirrels suffer their third straight loss and fall to 4-4.  While Chris advances his record to 3-4-1 only half a game behind the wild card.

The Testudos Revenge and Crusaders both end the week with 3-5 records, as Testudos beats the Crusaders, 40-29.  Derek has now won three in a row, while Jon has lost his last three.

Finally, in a rematch of last year's title game, Sean Taylor's Ashes rode Tom Brady (QB-TB) to a 15-10 victory over the Amish Electricians.  Not much else can be said about this game.
