New Owners Struggle To Find First Wins

Khalil Mack set a league record for DLs but it was wasted as the Signourney's Weavers fell to their fourth straight loss

When Steven and Andrew agreed to take over as owners of the Fighting Squirrels and Sean Taylor's Ashes they probably didn't expect the task of turning those franchises around to start this way.  Sure, those two teams have only combined for two playoff wins in the last twenty years.  And ten combined Toilet Bowl appearances.  But I wouldn't necessarily say they were cursed.  There isn't a lot of other connection between them.  Well, I guess Andy Eckert did run both of them at one point.  Mmm, maybe there is a curse.

Both owners are still looking for their first win.  Last week Steven saw Khalil Mack (DL-LAC) break the record for DLs with 31 points, but still fell short of the British Bulldogs by 5.  The fact that his RBs and WRs all netted goose eggs didn't help.   The Sigourney's Weavers have now been shutout three weeks in a row.  They rank in the bottom 3 at all offensive positions.  Ok, except for kickers, they lead the league in that category.  Overall, they remain the only team that hasn't scored at least 80 in a week.

Andrew's Aint Nothing But a Jew Thing has a slightly different problem.  They've been putting up some decent scores, but seem to always run into a team that scores just a bit more.  Usually because of one player having a great week.  Tyreek Hill (WR-MIA) scored 34 in week 1, Andrew lost by 14.  In week 3 the MIA OL set the single game OL record of 36, Andrew lost by 18.  Last week he lost by 21, Josh Allen (QB-BUF) scored 36.  Consequently, he has the lowest luck rating of -52.3, equavalatent to being over 2 game worse than he should be.  Although after the Thursday games this week it looks like he might get the benefit of the great week, as DJ Moore (WR-CHI) scored 39.  So maybe this week will be the one he picks up that first win.   Of course in week 2 he did lose to the Amish Electricians, which is just inexcusable this season.

I'm sure that both of these teams will win some games soon.  They don't meet until week 9 so even if they are winless until then one of them should win at that point.   I guess we do allow ties so maybe not.  Both teams need to make it through two more weeks before they get to face a team with a losing record, as the play the Gallic Warriors and Richard's Lionhearts in week 7.  Then if worse comes to worse they both get to play the Amish Electricians in the back half of the season, I'm sure they'll both pick up a win then.
