Week 8 - sorrow in the Burgundy

Published: Oct 31, 2023

Once the belstaff, the tentpole, the Hercules, the New England Patriots of the WMFFL - it is sad to see the current state of the Burgundy Division.

This week saw 3 tight losses (and then there was ANBAJT getting wiped out)

Amish Electricians (1-7) were leading all weekend and just needed 9 points from QB Goff and WR Meyers. But no, LV and Jimmy G couldn't really move the ball but Detroit could.267 yards and a TD with 8mins left.....267 yards and a TD at FT. Just the 7 points and defeat to The Crusaders. One word to describe Josh's offence - bland. One word to describe Josh's defence - bland. De'Ron Bland got a nifty 22 points from DB position.

Richard's Lionhearts (3-5)lost to Sacks on the Beach by2 points. Do I think that if Eddy Pineiro had converted an extra point I would have got a tie, do I think about 1H injuries to Stafford and Fitzpatrick in this game, do I think about this god awful trade of Matt Stafford with......Sacks on the Beach? Do I? Do I? Yes. Isn't AJ Brown having a great season. 23 points for SOTB

Norsemen still lead the way (5-3) but suffered with a tight loss the weekend to the invincible Bulldogs. Negative points from Mahomes, negative points from the non rostered LB. Byron is the class in the Burgundy but we worry about him vs the colossuses of the White division. Bulldogs having Etienne and Swift as RBs really is something.

ANBAJT 5 Testudos Revenge 72. Chase and Burrow scoring 39 points for TR

Elsewhere the Meggamen continue their fine season with 115 points  beating Sigourney's Weaver's

Trump Molests Collies beat the unfortunate Gallic Warriors. The Warriors score 119 but still sit 1-7 - CeeDee Lamb with 31 points the #1 individual points scorer this week. TMC had 6 double digit scores including a lovely 16 pointer from Dicker the Kicker and the Lions OL.

So what next. Week 9. And probably more despair for the Burgundy Brigade
